Affiliate Parasites-Growing In Numbers!
As the economy is feeling the tight squeeze, so is Affiliate Marketing.I guess it just goes to reason that all aspects of society will no doubt catch it one way or another eventually.Along with the ever changing scenery of the internet, a new breed of pest has arrived during these turbulent times. This new arrival is what one would call a Affiliate Parasite. If your not aware of this, nor have any clue as to what I’m talking about, you can rest assured that if your an affiliate, you have probably already lost hundreds of dollars to these parasites. In days gone by, the affiliate mostly worried about the underhanded, dodgy affiliate that would snatch their commissions.
These types of affiliates still exist, but now a bigger and more sinister creature has taken to the marketing arena. This new type of underhanded player is bigtime and I mean BIGTIME!They make millions upon millions a year, and most of that is from being the good little parasite, that they are. Many of these parasites give the illusion that they are charitable, or they offer a service for free….like photo images, some operate with a pop up and grab your commission before you could blink an eye!The sad thing is, that many of these organizations are allowed and protected by some of the biggest affiliate programs going! Some in fact are even owned by the affiliate program they are part of.It is a very difficult thing to investigate, when the affiliate parasite denies all actions, and the affiliate program denies it as well.
And if they were ever to be investigated and their system looked at closely, then they will no doubt turn it off until things cool down.Legally, they also are well aware that to take them to court, you would have to have deep pockets! Not only this, but it would take a long time to see any justice done, by which they would continue stealing money from affiliates. As far as I’m concerned, their isn’t very many affiliate programs, that I could say are honest.I do know of a couple of rare exceptions, that are determined to keep these sorts of affiliate parasites out of their programs, which may be the last places for an affiliate to make a little money one day.Allot of this problem has to do with the merchants. They either are aware and could care less, or they haven’t a clue.Whatever the case, this situation is growing rapidly and will soon engulf a major part of affiliate marketing oneday very soon! The affiliate community and merchants need to come forth and apply pressure! Both affiliates and merchants need to become more aware of these practices, and hopefully that could spark a rebellion. So for all you affiliates and merchants out their, start being proactive and make a stand. If you don’t, it will only get much worse, until marketing as we know it, will be a thing of the past!
